Demerol Side Effects Report #5011195-3
Demerol side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on May 23, 2006. Female patient, 66 years of age, was diagnosed with pain  and was treated with Demerol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardiac enzymes increased, cardio-respiratory arrest, cholecystitis acute, encephalopathy, hypotension, lethargy, mental status changes, metabolic acidosis, metabolic encephalopathy. Demerol dosage: 75MG IV. During the same period patient was treated with PHENERGAN. Patient died on 10/27/2004.

Demerol side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on May 22, 2006. Female patient, 37 years of age, weighting 125.0 lb, was diagnosed with pain  and was treated with Demerol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood pressure decreased, hypoxia, incorrect dose administered, lethargy, narcotic intoxication, nervous system disorder, overdose. Demerol dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PCA PUMP TORRANCE MEMERIAL MEDICAL CENTER. Patient was hospitalized and became disabled. Patient recovered.

Demerol side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED STATES on Aug 09, 2005. Female patient, 87 years of age, was diagnosed with analgesic effect and was treated with Demerol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: depressed level of consciousness, lethargy, overdose, oxygen saturation decreased. Demerol dosage: 25 MG, ONCE, INTRAVENOUS. Patient recovered.
