Demerol and cardiac arrest Patient Reports February 10, 2012

Demerol side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Aug 16, 2006. Male patient, 41 years of age, was diagnosed with pain , convulsion, depression  and was treated with Demerol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardiac arrest , convulsion, disorientation, dizziness , toxicologic test abnormal. Demerol dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PHENYTOIN, WELLBUTRIN. Patient died on 08/02/2005.

Demerol side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED STATES on Apr 22, 2005. Female patient, 41 years of age, weighting 176.4 lb, was treated with Demerol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardiac arrest . Demerol dosage: 20 MG/HR, 10 MG WITH 12 MINUTE LOCKOUT, INTRAVENOUS. Patient died on 10/04/2004.
