Male patient, 69 years of age, weighting 110.7 lb, was diagnosed with pain What is  pain and was treated with Demerol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood pressure decreased, cheyne-stokes respiration, cold sweat, dehydration, depressed level of consciousness, emphysema, loss of consciousness, miosis. Demerol dosage: 25-50 MG Q1H PRN IV BOLUS. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 37 years of age, weighting 125.0 lb, was diagnosed with pain What is  pain and was treated with Demerol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood pressure decreased, hypoxia, incorrect dose administered, lethargy, narcotic intoxication, nervous system disorder, overdose. Demerol dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PCA PUMP TORRANCE MEMERIAL MEDICAL CENTER. Patient was hospitalized and became disabled. Patient recovered.
