Decitabine Side Effects Report #5788173-X
Decitabine side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED STATES on Oct 12, 2006. Male patient, 75 years of age, weighting 132.3 lb, was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome and was treated with Decitabine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood culture positive, bone marrow failure, candidiasis, clostridium difficile colitis, cognitive disorder, diarrhoea, enterococcal infection, lung infection, sepsis . Decitabine dosage: 10 MG/M2, 1 IN 1 DAY, INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with PROCRIT, NEUPOGEN, AUGMENTIN, MORPHINE SULPHATE, COZAAR, FLOMAX, FOLIC ACID, LANTUS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Decitabine dosage: INTRAVENOUS; 30 MG, INTRAVENOUS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 09/25/2007.

Decitabine dosage: 15 MG/M**2; Q8H; IV. During the same period patient was treated with DEFEROXAMINE MESYLATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 03/22/2007.

Decitabine dosage: 225 MG, INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with PIPERACILLIN TAZOBACTAM, AMIKACIN, PRIMAXIN, NETILMICIN. Patient was hospitalized and became disabled. Patient died on 03/22/2007.
