Daptomycin side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Nov 21, 2005. Male patient, 65 years of age, weighting 207.2 lb, was diagnosed with endocarditis , endocarditis enterococcal and was treated with Daptomycin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: eosinophilia, haemodialysis. Daptomycin dosage: 500 MG IV Q48 H. During the same period patient was treated with AMPICILLIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 60 years of age, weighting 121.3 lb, was diagnosed with device related infection and was treated with Daptomycin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute respiratory distress syndrome, agitation, dyspnoea, eosinophilia, eosinophilic pneumonia, lung infiltration, pulmonary toxicity. Daptomycin dosage: 325MG Q24H IV. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 66 years of age, weighting 189.6 lb, was diagnosed with abscess limb, arthritis infective and was treated with Daptomycin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: eosinophilia, hypoxia, pneumonitis. Daptomycin dosage: 500MG DAILY IV. During the same period patient was treated with HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE, COZAAR, SIMVASTATIN, NAPROXEN, CLONAZEPAM, VICODIN, PRILOSEC. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
