Dapsone side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Nov 01, 2006. Male patient, child 7 years of age, was diagnosed with pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia, prophylaxis and was treated with Dapsone. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood methaemoglobin present, blood ph increased, cyanosis, fluid overload, haemoglobin decreased, oedema, oxygen saturation decreased, platelet count decreased. Dapsone dosage: 37.5 MG DAILY PO. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: back pain , blood methaemoglobin present, dyspnoea, dyspnoea exertional, malaise, oxygen saturation decreased. Dapsone dosage: 100MG PO QD. During the same period patient was treated with PROGRAF, PREDNISONE, CIPRO, ZOLOFT, NORVASC, NEUPOGEN, ZYRTEC. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
