Dapsone Side Effects Report #5143379-8
Dapsone side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Nov 01, 2006. Male patient, child 7 years of age, was diagnosed with pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia, prophylaxis and was treated with Dapsone. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood methaemoglobin present, blood ph increased, cyanosis, fluid overload, haemoglobin decreased, oedema, oxygen saturation decreased, platelet count decreased. Dapsone dosage: 37.5 MG DAILY PO. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood methaemoglobin present, dyspnoea, oxygen saturation decreased. Dapsone dosage: 100MG DAILY PO. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 53 years of age, weighting 105.8 lb, was diagnosed with antifungal prophylaxis and was treated with Dapsone. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: back pain , blood methaemoglobin present, dyspnoea, dyspnoea exertional, malaise, oxygen saturation decreased. Dapsone dosage: 100MG PO QD. During the same period patient was treated with PROGRAF, PREDNISONE, CIPRO, ZOLOFT, NORVASC, NEUPOGEN, ZYRTEC. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
