Dantrium and cardio-respiratory arrest Patient Reports February 13, 2012

Dantrium Side Effects Report #5446083-1
Dantrium side effect was reported by a Physician from JAPAN on Aug 23, 2007. Male patient, 72 years of age, was diagnosed with neuroleptic malignant syndrome and was treated with Dantrium. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardio-respiratory arrest. Dantrium dosage: 40 MG, 1 ONLY, IV DRIP; 60 MG, 1 ONLY, IV DRIP; 60 MG, 1 ONLY , IV DRIP. Patient died on 08/22/2007.

Dantrium side effect was reported by a Physician from JAPAN on Aug 30, 2007. Male patient, 72 years of age, was diagnosed with neuroleptic malignant syndrome and was treated with Dantrium. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardio-respiratory arrest. Dantrium dosage: 40 MG, 1 ONLY, IV DRIP; 60 MG, 1 ONLY, IV DRIP. During the same period patient was treated with DORAL, GASMOTIN, RIZE, DOXAZOSIN MESYLATE, JUVELA N, METHYCOBAL. Patient died.

Dantrium side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on Jan 05, 2007. Male patient, 44 years of age, weighting 300.0 lb, was diagnosed with neuroleptic malignant syndrome, hypertension, schizoaffective disorder and was treated with Dantrium. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: agitation, anoxic encephalopathy, apnoea, aspiration, blood creatine phosphokinase increased, brain damage, cardiac arrest , cardio-respiratory arrest. Dantrium dosage: 116 MG EVERY 6HR, IV NOS ; 50 MG TWICE DAILY ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with NORVASC, CLOZAPINE, ATENOLOL, CLONAZEPAM, GLIPIZIDE, BROMOCRIPTINE MESYLATE, INSULIN, GLUCOPHAGE. Patient died on 09/01/2006.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardio-respiratory arrest. Dantrium dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with CYPROHEPTADINE. Patient died.

Dantrium side effect was reported by a Physician from TURKEY on Apr 12, 2006. Female patient, 34 years of age, weighting 189.6 lb, was treated with Dantrium. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardio-respiratory arrest, metabolic acidosis, multi-organ failure. Dantrium dosage: 100 MG FOUR TIMES DAILY, IV NOS. During the same period patient was treated with CYPROHEPTADINE, OXYGEN, CHLORIDE, CHARCOAL, MIDAZOLAM, VECURONIUM BROMIDE. Patient died.
