Cystagon side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on July 31, 2005. Male patient, 26 years of age, weighting 121.0 lb, was diagnosed with cystinosis and was treated with Cystagon. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anuria, ascites, echocardiogram abnormal, gastric varices, haemodialysis, hepatomegaly, portal hypertension, portal vein thrombosis, renal transplant. Cystagon dosage: unknown. Patient died.

Cystagon side effect was reported by a Physician from FRANCE on Feb 11, 2008. Male patient, child 11 years of age, was diagnosed with cystinosis and was treated with Cystagon. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anuria, blood creatinine increased, blood potassium increased, blood urea increased, coma, convulsion, electroencephalogram abnormal, tachycardia. Cystagon dosage: 1600 MG, 100 MG; 4 TIMES A DAY, 200 MG; 4 TIMES A DAY. During the same period patient was treated with CALCIDIA, EPOGEN, GROWTH HORMONE RECOMBINANT, POTASSIUM BICARBONATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
