Competact side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from SWITZERLAND on Jan 21, 2008. Male patient, 68 years of age, was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus and was treated with Competact. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal infection, acute respiratory distress syndrome, cardiac failure, condition aggravated, disease complication, pneumonia What is  pneumonia, renal failure, septic shock, weight increased. Competact dosage: 15 MG PIOGLITAZONE AND 850 MG METFORMIN PER ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with ASPIRIN, OLMESARTAN MEDOXOMIL, ALDACTONE, PLAVIX, CONCOR, ZOCOR, LASIX. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.
