Colistin side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Jan 05, 2007. Female patient, 64 years of age, weighting 130.1 lb, was diagnosed with acinetobacter infection, pneumonia  and was treated with Colistin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: lethargy, loss of consciousness, movement disorder , respiratory failure. Colistin dosage: 115 MG IV Q 12HR. During the same period patient was treated with APAP, AMIODARONE, ASPIRIN, DOBUTAMINE, INSULIN, CEFAZOLIN, CHLOROTHIAZIDE. Patient recovered.

Colistin side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from on Aug 04, 2004. Female patient, 40 years of age, was treated with Colistin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: convulsion, dialysis , operative haemorrhage, paralysis , renal failure acute, renal tubular necrosis, respiratory failure, shock haemorrhagic. Colistin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with LASILIX, ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE AND MAGNESIUM TRISILICATE, NEBCIN, FORTUM, OMEPRAZOLE, ACTRAPID, INSULATARD NPH, CREON. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute respiratory distress syndrome, multi-organ failure, respiratory failure. Colistin dosage: 75 MG BID. Patient died on 05/18/2007.
