Colchicine side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Mar 26, 2009. Male patient, 74 years of age, weighting 149.9 lb, was diagnosed with gout  and was treated with Colchicine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardiac arrest , hyperkalaemia, hypovolaemia, lactic acidosis, nausea , pain , renal failure acute, respiratory failure. Colchicine dosage: 1 TABLET Q1H -MAX 6MG/24H- PO. Patient died on 03/24/2009.

Colchicine side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from on Jan 12, 2005. Male patient, 74 years of age, weighting 216.1 lb, was diagnosed with gout  and was treated with Colchicine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal distension, abdominal pain , acidosis, blood pressure decreased, bradycardia, cardiac arrest , cardiotoxicity, coma, dyspnoea. Colchicine dosage: 2 MG ONCE INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with LASIX, MORPHINE, COMBIVENT, FOLIC ACID, HEPARIN SQ, PROTONIX IV, NEUTRAPHOS. Patient died on 01/27/2004.

Male patient, 45 years of age, weighting 304.2 lb, was diagnosed with gout , hypertension, angina pectoris, diabetes mellitus and was treated with Colchicine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute myocardial infarction, angiopathy, arrhythmia , blood pressure systolic increased, bradycardia, cardiac arrest , cardiomegaly, cellulitis , joint sprain. Colchicine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with BENZONATATE, VIOXX, ACCUPRIL, VASOTEC, ENALAPRIL MALEATE, VERAPAMIL, GLUCOVANCE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 02/05/2002.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain , acidosis, cardiac arrest , depressed level of consciousness, diarrhoea, hypotension, renal failure acute, vomiting. Colchicine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with NSAID, AUGMENTIN, AMOXICILLIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.
