Colchicine and bone marrow failure Patient Reports February 12, 2012

Colchicine Side Effects Report #6124255-0
Colchicine side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on Mar 13, 2009. Female patient, 55 years of age, was diagnosed with pericarditis and was treated with Colchicine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal discomfort, asthenia, bone marrow failure, chest pain , diplopia, dyspnoea, eyelid ptosis, haemoglobin decreased. Colchicine dosage: 0.6 MG, DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with ZYVOX, STEROIDS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Colchicine side effect was reported by a Health Professional from CHINA on Jan 17, 2006. Female patient, 55 years of age, was diagnosed with pneumonia  and was treated with Colchicine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bone marrow failure, febrile neutropenia. Colchicine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with CLARITHROMYCIN. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bone marrow failure, cardiac arrest , dyspnoea, lactic acidosis, leukocytosis, metabolic acidosis, multi-organ failure, myocardial infarction. Colchicine dosage: unknown. Patient died.
