Chlorhexidine side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED STATES on July 14, 2008. Male patient, 59 years of age, weighting 211.0 lb, was diagnosed with antibiotic prophylaxis and was treated with Chlorhexidine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: burkholderia cepacia infection, catheter related infection, culture positive. Chlorhexidine dosage: 2500-3000MG DAILY TOPICAL. During the same period patient was treated with CHLORHEXIDINE GLUCONATE, CHLORHEXIDINE GLUCONATE, PLE PERIPHERAL IV LINES, TRIPLE LUMEN CENTRAL VENOUS CATHETER, HEMODIALYSIS CATHETER AND PERIPHERALLY INSERTED CENTRAL CATHETER, TWO CHEST TUBES, JACKSON. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
