Chloramphenicol side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Nov 21, 2005. Male patient, 78 years of age, was diagnosed with bacillus infection, hypertension and was treated with Chloramphenicol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acid hemolysin test, anaemia, bacillus infection, benign prostatic hyperplasia, blood bilirubin increased, blood bilirubin unconjugated increased, blood lactate dehydrogenase increased, chromaturia, haematocrit decreased. Chloramphenicol dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE. Patient recovered.
