Calcitriol side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from on Jan 06, 2005. Male patient, 18 years of age, was diagnosed with renal failure chronic, hyperphosphataemia and was treated with Calcitriol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood parathyroid hormone increased, calcinosis, cerebral parenchymal calcification, facial palsy, joint range of motion decreased, nodule, ocular hyperaemia, parathyroid disorder What is  parathyroid disorder, pruritus. Calcitriol dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with CALCIUM CONTAINING PHOSPHORUS BINDERS, SEVALAMER. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 45 years of age, was diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism secondary, haemodialysis and was treated with Calcitriol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: arthralgia, calcinosis, condition aggravated, hyperparathyroidism secondary, joint range of motion decreased, joint swelling, local swelling, pruritus. Calcitriol dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with CALCIUM PHOSPHORUS BINDERS, ALUMINIUM PHOSPHORUS BINDERS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
