Calcitonin side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED KINGDOM on Sept 18, 2006. Female patient, 78 years of age, was diagnosed with osteoporosis , hypertension, pain , ankylosing spondylitis  and was treated with Calcitonin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatinine increased, blood urea increased, renal failure. Calcitonin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with ADIZEM, AMITRIPTYLINE, BENDROFLUAZIDE, CELEBREX, METHOTREXATE, RAMIPRIL, RANITIDINE. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 46 years of age, was diagnosed with osteoporosis  and was treated with Calcitonin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood alkaline phosphatase increased, blood creatinine increased, blood glucose increased, blood magnesium decreased, blood phosphorus decreased, blood potassium decreased, blood urea increased, convulsion, flushing. Calcitonin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with CALCIUM CARBONATE, MAGNESIUM SULPHATE, DIAZEPAM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
