Bupivacaine side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Sept 08, 2005. Female patient, 61 years of age, was diagnosed with nerve block, shoulder operation and was treated with Bupivacaine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: arm amputation, cardiac arrest , extremity necrosis, limb injury, peripheral ischaemia. Bupivacaine dosage: 30ML. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 65 years of age, weighting 154.3 lb, was diagnosed with local anaesthesia and was treated with Bupivacaine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: atrioventricular block first degree, cardiac arrest , circulatory collapse, dyspnoea, electrocardiogram qrs complex abnormal, qrs axis abnormal, respiratory arrest, shock. Bupivacaine dosage: LESS THAN 1.1 MG/KG, INJECTION. During the same period patient was treated with PROPOFOL, OXYGEN, ETOMIDATE, SUCCINYLCHOLINE CHLORIDE. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 54 years of age, weighting 130.1 lb, was diagnosed with anaesthesia, postoperative analgesia and was treated with Bupivacaine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: apallic syndrome, blood pressure fluctuation, blood pressure inadequately controlled, brain herniation, brain mass, brain scan abnormal, cardiac arrest , choking , disease progression. Bupivacaine dosage: 10 ML ED. During the same period patient was treated with LIGNOCAINE, MORPHINE. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardiac arrest , grand mal convulsion. Bupivacaine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with LIDOCAINE, HYALASE, BENDROFLUAZIDE, AMETHOCAINE, POVIDINE. Patient died.
