Botulinum Side Effects Report #5109746-3
Botulinum side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from SPAIN on Sept 08, 2006. Female patient, 80 years of age, was diagnosed with muscle spasticity and was treated with Botulinum. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cellulitis , cutaneous vasculitis, mycobacterium chelonei infection, off label use, pneumonia aspiration, respiratory failure. Botulinum dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PREDNISONE, METHOTREXATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

Female patient, 80 years of age, was diagnosed with muscle spasticity and was treated with Botulinum. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: aspiration, blister, cellulitis , contusion, cutaneous vasculitis, granuloma, inflammation, musculoskeletal disorder, mycobacterial infection. Botulinum dosage: unknown. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

Female patient, weighting 135.0 lb, was diagnosed with muscle spasticity, upper motor neurone lesion, arteriosclerosis, hyperlipidaemia, hypertension, gastrooesophageal reflux disease, depression  and was treated with Botulinum. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bacteraemia, cardiac failure congestive, cellulitis , chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Botulinum dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with BOTULINUM TOXIN TYPE A, ASPIRIN, VYTORIN, CATAPRES, OMEPRAZOLE, VASOTEC, CARVEDILOL, EFFEXOR. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
