Basiliximab side effect was reported by a Physician from JAPAN on July 23, 2007. Male patient, 25 years of age, was diagnosed with renal transplant and was treated with Basiliximab. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: chorioretinal disorder, cytomegalovirus infection , kidney transplant rejection, pathogen resistance, renal impairment, renal tubular atrophy. Basiliximab dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PREDNISOLONE, TACROLIMUS, MYCOPHENOLATE MOFETIL, GUSPERIMUS HYDROCHLORIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cytomegalovirus infection , graft haemorrhage, peritoneal fluid analysis abnormal, post procedural complication, pyrexia, staphylococcal infection . Basiliximab dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with TACROLIMUS, CELLCEPT, STEROIDS NOS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 32 years of age, was diagnosed with heart transplant , antiviral prophylaxis and was treated with Basiliximab. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cytomegalovirus infection , cytomegalovirus test positive, diarrhoea, leukopenia, pyrexia. Basiliximab dosage: 20 MG, ONCE/SINGLE. During the same period patient was treated with CYCLOSPORINE, METHYLPREDNISOLONE, MYCOPHENOLATE MOFETIL, PREDNISONE, CYTOMEGALOVIRUS IMMUNE GLOBULIN. Patient died.
