Azacitidine Side Effects Report #5254695-3
Azacitidine side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on Feb 13, 2007. Female patient, 78 years of age, weighting 103.0 lb, was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome and was treated with Azacitidine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain What is  abdominal pain, atrial fibrillation What is  atrial fibrillation, bacterial sepsis, haemoglobin decreased, lung infiltration, myocardial ischaemia, neutropenia, platelet count decreased, septic shock. Azacitidine dosage: 50 MG/M2 (AZA 5-2-5), SUBCUTANEOUS. During the same period patient was treated with ARICEPT, NEUPOGEN, FOSINOPRIL, EXJADE, TYLENOL, PROTONIX. Patient died on 02/12/2007.

Female patient, 78 years of age, weighting 103.0 lb, was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome and was treated with Azacitidine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain What is  abdominal pain, atrial fibrillation What is  atrial fibrillation, blood culture positive, disorientation, haemoglobin decreased, lethargy, lung infiltration, myocardial ischaemia, neutropenia. Azacitidine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with ARICEPT, NEUPOGEN, FOSINOPRIL, EXJADE, TYLENOL, PROTONIX. Patient died on 02/12/2007.

Male patient, 76 years of age, weighting 132.3 lb, was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome and was treated with Azacitidine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: atelectasis, depressed level of consciousness, epistaxis, haematemesis, haemorrhagic diathesis, hepatomegaly, lung infection, lung infiltration, metabolic acidosis. Azacitidine dosage: 75 MG/M2 (120 MG, DAILY X 7 DAYS) SUBCUTANEOUS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 02/03/2006.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bacterial infection What is  bacterial infection, lung infiltration, neutropenia, pneumonia fungal, respiratory failure. Azacitidine dosage: 150 MG (DAILY X 7 DAYS), SUBCUTANEO. During the same period patient was treated with MGCD, ACYCLOVIR, LEVAQUIN, COMPAZINE, AMBIEN, BENADRYL, ACETAMINOPHEN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 06/12/2006.
