Artane Side Effects Report #4979711-5
Artane side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from JAPAN on Apr 06, 2006. Female patient, 59 years of age, was diagnosed with schizophrenia and was treated with Artane. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood pressure decreased, diabetic ketoacidosis, heart rate increased, hyperamylasaemia, ill-defined disorder, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, renal failure acute. Artane dosage: 4 MG 1X PER 1 DAY ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with DOXAZOSIN MESYLATE, FOSAMAX, ALFAROL, CARVEDILOL, VIT K CAP, OSTEN, BLOPRESS, HALOPERIDOL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

Male patient, 54 years of age, was diagnosed with parkinson's disease  and was treated with Artane. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardiomyopathy , haemodialysis, heart rate increased, neuroleptic malignant syndrome, renal disorder. Artane dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with AMANTADINE, DROXIDOPA, LEVODOPA BENSERAZIDE HYDROCHLO. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 21 years of age, weighting 232.0 lb, was diagnosed with emotional disorder, schizophrenia and was treated with Artane. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: asthma , confusional state, difficulty in walking, feeling abnormal, head injury, heart rate increased, hypotonia, limb injury. Artane dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with STELAZINE. Patient was hospitalized and became disabled. Patient recovered.
