Arsenic side effect was reported by a Health Professional from JAPAN on Nov 29, 2005. Male patient, 30 years of age, weighting 178.6 lb, was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukaemia and was treated with Arsenic. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatine phosphokinase increased, convulsion, heart rate increased, loss of consciousness. Arsenic dosage: 12 MG QD INTRAVENOUS DRIP. During the same period patient was treated with ARSENIC TRIOXIDE, ARSENIC TRIOXIDE, RISPERIDONE, CHLORPROMAZINE, LORAZEPAM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 27 years of age, was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukaemia and was treated with Arsenic. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: brain herniation, brain oedema, cerebral infarction, cerebrovascular disorder, confusional state, convulsion, disease complication, disseminated intravascular coagulation, dysarthria. Arsenic dosage: 0.15 MG/KG QD INTRAVENOUS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

Arsenic dosage: 9.3 MG QD INTRAVENOUS DRIP. During the same period patient was treated with ARSENIC TRIOXIDE, TRETINOIN, FLUCONAZOLE, SULFAMETHOXAZOLE, FUROSEMIDE. Patient recovered.
