Amphotericin Side Effects Report #5503612-7
Amphotericin side effect was reported by a Physician from SERBIA AND MONTENEGRO on Oct 18, 2007. Male patient, weighting 194.0 lb, was diagnosed with pneumonia
and was treated with Amphotericin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood albumin decreased, blood bilirubin increased, blood glucose increased, blood lactate dehydrogenase decreased, blood urea increased, bone marrow failure, disease progression, gamma-glutamyltransferase increased. Amphotericin dosage: (100 MG QD INTRAVENOUS, (100 MG TID INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with AMPHOTERICIN B, IMIPENEM, TEICOPLANIN, NEUPOGEN, ACYCLOVIR, ETOPOSIDE, CYTARABINE. Patient was hospitalized and became disabled. Female patient, child 5 years of age, was diagnosed with febrile neutropenia and was treated with Amphotericin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, aspartate aminotransferase increased, bilirubin conjugated increased, blood albumin decreased, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, blood bilirubin increased, blood creatinine increased, blood culture positive, blood phosphorus increased. Amphotericin dosage: 3.0 MG/KG DAILY, IV. During the same period patient was treated with ACETAMINOPHEN, ANTILYMPHOCYTE IMMUNOGLOBULIN, BLOOD CELLS, BLOOD CELLS, BLOOD CELLS, CASPOFUNGIN ACETATE, CASPOFUNGIN ACETATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood bilirubin increased, hepatotoxicity. Amphotericin dosage: (0.5 MG/KG/DAY). During the same period patient was treated with CHLORPROMAZINE. Patient died.

Amphotericin dosage: (50 MG 1X/24 HOURS INTRAVENOUS (NOT OTHERWISE SPECIFIED)). During the same period patient was treated with MEROPENEM, AMIKACIN, AMPHOTERICIN B. Patient recovered.
