Amikacin and hypotension Patient Reports February 12, 2012

Amikacin Side Effects Report #5845001-1
Amikacin side effect was reported by a Health Professional from AUSTRALIA on Aug 12, 2008. Male patient, 33 years of age, was diagnosed with sepsis  and was treated with Amikacin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatinine increased, blood urea increased, coagulopathy, dermatitis exfoliative, eosinophilia, erythema, face oedema, hypotension, nephritis interstitial. Amikacin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with MIRTAZAPINE, MEROPENEM, VANCOMYCIN, CLINDAMYCIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 33 years of age, weighting 172.0 lb, was diagnosed with pneumonia , urinary tract infection  and was treated with Amikacin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: disseminated intravascular coagulation, haemodialysis, hypotension, hypoxia, nephropathy toxic, pneumonia , renal failure acute, renal ischaemia, renal tubular necrosis. Amikacin dosage: 500 MG Q24 HOURS IV. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal pain upper, dizziness , dyspnoea, hypersensitivity, hypotension, oxygen saturation decreased, paraesthesia. Amikacin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with MERREM, SPORANOX, PARIET, RESPRIMTE. Patient recovered.
