Amifostine side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED STATES on Sept 08, 2008. Female patient, 41 years of age, weighting 173.1 lb, was diagnosed with stem cell transplant and was treated with Amifostine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: dyspnoea, palpitations, pulmonary embolism What is  pulmonary embolism, tachycardia. Amifostine dosage: 740 MG DAILY M2 IV. During the same period patient was treated with MELPHALAN, VALTREX, ZOLOFT, PROTONIX, NEURONTIN, COUMADIN, CALCIUM, CARBONATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 57 years of age, weighting 222.7 lb, was diagnosed with non-hodgkin's lymphoma and was treated with Amifostine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: disease progression, dyspnoea, lymphadenopathy mediastinal, pleural effusion. Amifostine dosage: 740 MG DAILY M2 IV. During the same period patient was treated with MELPHALAN, ACYCLOVIR, ADVAIR DISKUS, ATIVAN, CALCIUM CARBONATE, CITALOPRAM HYDROBROMIDE, FLOMAX, LOPERAMIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
