Amarel Side Effects Report #4914000-6
Amarel side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from on Feb 09, 2006. Female patient, 71 years of age, was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus non-insulin-dependent, vulvovaginal mycotic infection and was treated with Amarel. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: confusional state, hypoglycaemia, hyponatraemia, international normalised ratio increased, somnolence. Amarel dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with TRIFLUCAN, PREVISCAN, TARDYFERON. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 62 years of age, weighting 264.6 lb, was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus non-insulin-dependent, myalgia, myositis , gastric ulcer, hypertension and was treated with Amarel. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anuria, haemodialysis, hypoglycaemia, multi-organ failure, necrotising fasciitis, respiratory distress, septic shock, streptococcal infection , thrombocytopenia. Amarel dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with DOLIPRANE, OMEPRAZOLE, CREON, TRANDATE, UPFEN. Patient died on 04/19/2004.
