Alteplase Side Effects Report #4716953-8
Alteplase side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on June 29, 2005. Male patient, 47 years of age, was diagnosed with thrombosis in device, clonus and was treated with Alteplase. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: basilar artery thrombosis, brain herniation, brain oedema, brain stem syndrome, carotid artery occlusion, cerebral haemorrhage, cerebral infarction, coma, corneal reflex decreased. Alteplase dosage: INTERMITTENT THROMBOLYSIS DOSES RANGING FROM 50 TO 100 MG (NR, INTERMITTENT THROMBOLYSIS), IV. During the same period patient was treated with ASPIRIN, MIDAZOLAM, WARFARIN, CLOPIDOGREL BISULPHATE, HEPARIN, PHOSPHENYTOIN. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cerebral haemorrhage, dizziness , gait disturbance, nausea . Alteplase dosage: 1MG/HR X 12 HOURS, 0.5 MG/HR IV DRIP. During the same period patient was treated with HEPARIN. Patient recovered.

Patient died on 06/11/2007.

Alteplase dosage: 18MG OVER 12 HOURS INTRAVENOUS DRIP. During the same period patient was treated with HEPARIN. Patient died on 10/17/2008.
