Allopurinol side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from JAPAN on Feb 07, 2007. Female patient, 91 years of age, was diagnosed with hyperuricaemia, wound infection, cerebral infarction, gastritis, renal failure chronic and was treated with Allopurinol. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: diabetic complication, erythema, erythema of eyelid, eye discharge, face oedema, ill-defined disorder, impetigo , oedema peripheral, pruritus. Allopurinol dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with SAWACILLIN, TICLOPIDINE HYDROCHLORIDE, RANITIDINE HYDROCHLORIDE, LASIX, CEFAMEZIN. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cheilitis, conjunctival oedema, cytomegalovirus antibody positive, epstein-barr virus antibody positive, erythema, erythema of eyelid, herpes simplex serology negative, lip blister, liver disorder. Allopurinol dosage: 100MG THREE TIMES PER DAY. During the same period patient was treated with DICLOFENAC, CIMETIDINE, ASPIRIN, BLOPRESS, TRIPAMIDE, TAGAMET, VOLTAREN, PREDNISOLONE SUCCINATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
