Male patient, 77 years of age, weighting 169.8 lb, was diagnosed with osteoporosis , cerebrovascular accident prophylaxis and was treated with Alendronate. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: duodenal ulcer, duodenitis, erosive oesophagitis, faeces discoloured, gastritis, treatment noncompliance, upper gastrointestinal haemorrhage. Alendronate dosage: 70 MG QWEEK PO. During the same period patient was treated with ASPIRIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
