Alemtuzumab and convulsion Patient Reports February 13, 2012

Alemtuzumab Side Effects Report #6125553-7
Alemtuzumab side effect was reported by a Physician from GERMANY on Mar 16, 2009. Male patient, 41 years of age, was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia recurrent and was treated with Alemtuzumab. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: coagulopathy, convulsion, disseminated cytomegaloviral infection, encephalitis , hepatic failure, hepatitis , herpes simplex , influenza like illness, leukopenia. Alemtuzumab dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with FLUDARABINE PHOSPHATE, FLUDARABINE PHOSPHATE, FLUDARABINE PHOSPHATE, CYCLOPHOSPHAMIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 12/18/2008.

During the same period patient was treated with FLUDARABINE PHOSPHATE, FLUDARABINE PHOSPHATE, FLUDARABINE PHOSPHATE, CYCLOPHOSPHAMIDE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 12/18/2008.

Female patient, 42 years of age, weighting 144.6 lb, was diagnosed with bone marrow transplant  and was treated with Alemtuzumab. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: convulsion, infusion related reaction, urticaria, wheezing. Alemtuzumab dosage: 30 MG IV X 2 DAYS. Patient recovered.
