Adagen and respiratory failure Patient Reports February 12, 2012

Adagen Side Effects Report #5909596-1
Adagen side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on Sept 26, 2008. Male patient, child 2 years of age, weighting 22.05 lb, was diagnosed with combined immunodeficiency and was treated with Adagen. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: brain abscess, convulsion, lung abscess, meningitis haemophilus, pneumonia , respiratory failure. Adagen dosage: 0.75 ML;BIW;SC. During the same period patient was treated with ANTIBIOTICS. Patient was hospitalized and became disabled. Patient died on 09/20/2008.

Adagen side effect was reported by a Physician from FRANCE on Dec 20, 2007. Female patient, child 10 years of age, was diagnosed with combined immunodeficiency and was treated with Adagen. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: lobar pneumonia, lymphocyte count decreased, measles , respiratory failure. Adagen dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with TRIMETOPRIM, ACYCLOVIR, NISTATIN. Patient died on 12/15/2007.

During the same period patient was treated with BACTRIM, CIPROFLOX, CLARITHROMYCIN, FLUCONAZOLE, RIFAMPICIN, GANCICLOVIR, AMIKACIN, TEICOPLANIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 09/24/2005.
