Acetylcysteine side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Jan 24, 2008. Female patient, 18 years of age, weighting 149.9 lb, was diagnosed with overdose and was treated with Acetylcysteine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: erythema, infusion related reaction, respiratory distress, vomiting. Acetylcysteine dosage: 10200MG IV OVER 15 MINUTES 6800 MG IV OVER 4 H THEN 6800MG IV OVER 16 HOURS. Patient recovered.

Acetylcysteine dosage: 11250 MG IV - BOLUS THEN 12.5 MG/KG/HR. Patient recovered.

Patient died on 03/01/2007.
