Acarbose Side Effects Report #5442954-0
Acarbose side effect was reported by a Health Professional from FRANCE on Aug 30, 2007. Female patient, 57 years of age, was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus, myelodysplastic syndrome and was treated with Acarbose. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: asthenia, hepatitis cholestatic, jaundice , nausea . Acarbose dosage: TOTAL DAILY DOSE: 300 MG UNIT DOSE: 100 MG. During the same period patient was treated with NILEVAR, AMARYL, NEORECORMON, SPECIAFOLDINE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Acarbose side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED KINGDOM on Aug 05, 2005. Male patient, 78 years of age, weighting 145.5 lb, was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, parkinson's disease  and was treated with Acarbose. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: fall , jaundice , subdural haematoma. Acarbose dosage: 50 MG, BID, ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with ENTACAPONE, SINEMET, GLICLAZIDE, METFORMIN, BENZHEXOL. Patient died on 03/22/2005.
